How You Can Win One of Two Social Media Marketing Books

I realized I have two copies of two brand new books: Facebook Marketing An Hour a Day by my friend Mari Smith and Chris Treadaway, and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Social Media Marketing by Jennifer Abernethy (I really dislike titles that imply you’re a dummy or an idiot!). Jennifer interviewed me about blogging for her book and gave me a shout out in the acknowledgments which was very kind.
I want to give my extra copies away as a gift to my community. I was thinking about how to do this and figured I’d keep it super simple and model how you can boost your visibility with social media too!
Here’s how to enter to win one of these excellent marketing books:
1. Go to my Facebook page at http://facebook.com/BlogSquad.
2. If you’re not already a “fan” or “liker” click the “like” button.
3. Write on the Wall and tell me which book you want. You can get creative too. Post a picture or a video telling me why you want the book!
Pretty easy.
Now I’ll reveal what’s behind the curtain so you can model this tactic.
First, my goal is to have everyone in my community connect with me in as many ways possible: my blogs, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube. Why? Because you may miss a post on my blog, but see it on Twitter or Facebook.
You may miss a video I share on Facebook, but see it on YouTube.
This gives us more opportunities to get to know one another and for me to find out how I can best serve you and provide the resources and tools you want. You may or may not have or agree with this goal, but with so many options for connecting on the Web, I want to be able to connect with you where you prefer to hang out.
By asking you to post on my Wall, we are now connected on my Blog Squad Facebook page and you get more access to me through Q&A and links to resources I only post there.
Second, when a “fan” posts a comment on a Page wall, that action is visible to the people in their community. The ability for your friends to see what you’re commenting on and “liking” is what makes Facebook so powerful. Their curiosity may be piqued and they’ll click through to see what you are up to and join the conversation. This action provides the potential to attract more people to your page and boosts your visibility on Facebook.
On Monday I’ll use random.org to choose the winners for each book so head on over to my Page and let me know which book you want!
